Leaked iPhone vs. Jane Lynch spoof ad.

leave a comment

Jane Lynch (of Glee fame) and Kassem G (of, er, stand-up comedy fame) teamed up together to do a spoof on the whole Justin Long Mac vs. PC ad, in this one the leaked iPhone 4 going up against, well, Jane Lynch.

Awesomeness. And Singapore gets prominent mention! Speaking of that, if you read the comments for that video, some Singaporeans are too uptight and humourless, man. The stereotype (of Singapore as a “fine” city, which isn’t all that exaggerated a stereotype) was pretty hilariously used and I don’t actually think it’s all that offensive. It was all for fun, anyway.

Not the only weird question today.

This is totally one of the parts of the game that I felt made no sense at all. Maybe my character’s one of those new-age androgynous, shemale types?

It’s not all glitz and glamour once you get the chick, folks. Take note, Mario!

Thanks to Joseph for the recommendation again!

Harry Potter: Hermoine’s stalker

one comment

This is the latest in a line of hilarious Harry Potter spoofs and it’s actually pretty well done. Slightly not safe for work due to language and inherent grossness:

I love how they edited all the dialogue and I don’t know how they manage to look like he’s actually in the actual video.

Four-chord songs!

leave a comment

Long ago (ok, last August), I did a post on some cool Youtube covers I saw, one of which was a medley of songs (including several Avrils) that utilised a same set of chords.

Now, thanks to faithful reader Yi Han (or at least I think he’s a faithful reader, *ahemhebetterbeahem*), here’re two more videos featuring medleys of songs with a same set of chords:

This one is supposedly the original version and the dude takes a while to actually get to the songs but he’s pretty funny and wry about it so it’s all cool. The next one, though, is the awesomest one yet.

That’s a lot of songs mashed into the medley and the dudes are pretty funny too (not to mention decent singers)! So gonna learn those four chords and play them soon.

Because ‘penguin’ is the first bird I think of.

Totally hilarious. Because the first thing everyone noticed was the little bird there right?

Singing the hospital blues.

This dude, who was hospitalized for TB and quarantined for several weeks, came up with this rap and video chronicling his mental stability (or lack thereof) after those weeks of stay.

It’s really well-written and totally hilarious. It’s too bad that it has to be based on real-life experience (which is sad for the dude).

Drama papa.

leave a comment

There was a bit of drama today when, high on successfully completing my history essays before schedule and also on lack of sleep, I found out that my SE1101E essay, which I thought was due next Friday during lecture, was actually due during tutorial on Monday at noon instead.

This was understandably a huge cause of concern for me as I haven’t even started on the paper yet. Heck, at that time I hadn’t even thought of my topic yet. And I wasn’t the only one. From the loud chatter that erupted in the lecture hall, not to mention the gasps of all my friends sitting near me, I’m guessing quite many people failed to see the fine print in our syllabus that said the essay was due during tutorial (after all, most other modules have us handing in assignments during lectures).

Thankfully, while I was panicking and asking friends for suggestions on topics, I received an email from my tutor, who moved the deadline for my tutorial class to Wednesday at 5.30pm. While still not Friday (and now it clashes with my revision for a stats test I have on Wednesday), this extension was much needed. I mean, 1.5k words is supposed to be ok for me (since those were the norm in Mass Comm) but this essay has one of those vague, weird questions that I don’t really know how to elaborate on and squeeze out content for and the extra time is much needed for me to find stuff to fill the quota.

So, whew, drama averted for now. Still have to go back to school on a Saturday to borrow books and study but at least it’s not so scarily stressful. And, to randomly segue to my totally unrelated Picture of the Post, here’s the truth behind Mario’s cheery disposition:

Quick respite.

Yay I finished my history essays! They might not be very well-written (one started out pretty well but then devolved into one of those that got progressively worse the more I tried to improve it) or be A-worthy but I’m just happy I finished ahead of schedule!

Haven’t been able to catch up with American Idol this week so there’s no recap although, from what I’ve read, I didn’t miss much. Many are saying that, based on the first round, this might be the worst top 24 in Idol history and that there wasn’t a single standout performance from both guys and girls. Even all the hot faves fell short. That’s sad.

In any case, before I go off for some sleep before continuing my fortnight from hell, here’s a picture that aptly expresses my feelings:

Yes. So stop giving me notifications. And stop sending me random not-real gifts (real ones are fine, though). And no, I do not have a gun to spare or I sure as hell am not going to offer you any help in your war.
